How do affirmations work?

Affirmations are little sayings or sentences that you may say to yourself to encourage the growth of that desire. For example, let’s say you want to get more money. You may say to yourself, “I am willing, ready and able to receive money.” But in the back of your mind you might be saying, “This isn’t going to work. This is dumb.” In the end the negative comment is going to trump the positive affirmation.


Positive affirmations are a way of life. The way you think is the way you live. If you truly believe that telling yourself positive things won’t work and your life won’t improve, then it wont. However, if you tell yourself that all the positive affirmations will work and they will change your life, then they have a great chance of doing so.


Thinking is a habit. If you wanted to quit smoking, you would have to break that habit. Once you officially quit smoking you might have an improved quality of life. You might be able to run longer, stop coughing, have more energy, the list goes on. That is the same way affirmations work. Once you break the bad habit of how you used to think, you will start thinking more positively and positive energy will be attracted to you.


Your life will fill with opportunities, happiness, wealth, health and love, just to name a few. So how do you start with these positive affirmations? Well it’s quite simple. Just start telling yourself positive things!


Do you want to attract more love? Tell yourself this: I have come to this planet to learn to love myself more, and to share that love with all those around me.


Do you want to have more energy? Tell yourself this: Today, I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy


Do you want forgiveness? Tell yourself this: I forgive those who have harmed me in my past and peacefully detach from them.


If you want a better marriage: My marriage is becoming stronger, deeper, and more stable each day.


If you want more self-love: I acknowledge my own self-worth; my confidence is soaring


If you want good health: I love my body and it is a powerhouse for fueling me. I respect and listen to what it needs.


If you want success: My obstacles are moving out of my way; my path is carved towards greatness.


These are just a few affirmations. You can find them everywhere and you can even create them yourself. It is so important to watch what you think, because that is what you become. Do not deny your power and your worth!

How does Meditating Work?

We’ve all heard that meditating is supposed to relax and balance ourselves and it should be practiced the same way that you blink or breathe-all the time. Meditating is a practice that helps you achieve higher consciousness. It can rewire our brains entirely. It’s been known to ward off health issues and prepare people to handle more in their lives. It is a way to control your emotions. But do we really know how it works?

  1. Gamma State: (30 – 100Hz) This is the state of hyperactivity and active learning. Gamma state is the most opportune time to retain information. This is why educators often have audiences jumping up and down or dancing around — to increase the likelihood of permanent assimilation of information. If over stimulated, it can lead to anxiety.Beta State: (13 – 30Hz) Where we function for most of the day, beta state is associated with the alert mind state of the prefrontal cortex. This is a state of the “working” or “thinking mind” — analytical, planning, assessing and categorizing.3. Alpha State: (9 – 13Hz) Brain waves start to slow down out of thinking mind. We feel more calm, peaceful and grounded. We often find ourselves in an “alpha state” after a yoga class, a walk in the woods, a pleasurable sexual encounter or during any activity that helps relax the body and mind. We are lucid, reflective, have a slightly diffused awareness. The hemispheres of the brain are more balanced (neural integration).

    4. Theta State: (4 – 8Hz) We are able to begin meditation. This is the point where the verbal/thinking mind transitions to the meditative/visual mind. We begin to move from the planning mind to a deeper state of awareness (often felt as drowsy), with stronger intuition, more capacity for wholeness and complicated problem solving. The theta state is associated visualization.

    5. Delta State: (1-3 Hz) Tibetan monks that have been meditating for decades can reach this in an alert, wakened phase, but most of us reach this final state during deep, dreamless sleep.

Meditation has been proven to preserve the aging brain and improve memory. It also has shown to increase focus in people and decrease mind-wandering. Mind-wandering can be signs of unhappiness or focusing on the past or future too much. By toning this down by meditation you will start to see things more clearly in present time. The Guilt Game

What is guilt? We’ve all felt it. We all know how it makes us feel. It is one of the worst feelings and can leave you sleepless and sad. Maybe you did something and are too embarrassed to admit it. Maybe you finally realized something and feel like you need to right a wrong. Maybe you feel undeserving and when you finally achieve a goal or receive that item, you no longer feel good, but rather guilty.

Guilt is a funny thing. In a cognitive perspective, guilt is the thought that you have done harm unto someone else. Some people feel this emotion many times throughout the day; some people feel this emotion only once in a while. Researchers and psychologists believe that guilt and the amount of guilt you feel is determined on how you were raised and how you played as a child.

Guilt can be irrational and cause extra anxiety. It can make a situation seem more severe than it really was or it can make you question what actually happened. Sometimes people will experience guilt when they come into a large amount of money. Maybe they got a new job and they are paid very well or someone passed away and they inherited money. They may feel like they are undeserving of this money and they are afraid to have it or use it. This can cause extra distress on that person’s life and it can lead to a domino effect of many other problems.

Some people may also feel this way when it comes to love. That person may have been in a poor relationship in the past and believes that they only deserve a partner who will treat them worse than they treat their partner because they feel too much guilt. They feel like they are a burden so they need to be treated like one.

Guilt can form from a lack of confidence or from a lack of deservingness. These emotions could have been formed from situations in the past, it could have been how someone was raised or it could be from depression or anxiety.

So how do we fix it? Someone who experiences an exponential amount of guilt should practice positive affirmations. For example:

“I am deserving of my wealth/life/job/health.”

“Love is attracted to me because I express love.”

“I am happy and deserving.”

“I approve of myself and my surroundings.”

These are just a few examples of what you can tell yourself to boost your confidence and change the way you think. Through sound healing and positive affirmations, someone who experiences a lot of guilt will see improvements and may even notice their outlook change on situations. Finding Your Purpose

Many people will sit and wonder what their purpose in this world is. Are they supposed to save lives? Are they supposed to invent the next big science revelation? It is important to take a step back and think about what makes you happy. Does going to your job make you frustrated or uninterested? If so, it might be time to make a change. By following your happiness you will start to discover your true passions. Success is defined by the satisfaction that you get out of your work. Someone could win the lottery and not be successful. Someone with a few dollars in their bank account who is working their way through college could be successful. It doesn’t matter your circumstance, as long as you are happy with your progress and the end result.

It’s easy to dream of how you will feel once you “become successful,” but it can be difficult to figure out how to get to that point. This is where Holistic Sound Healing comes into play. The Science of Letting Go

Have you ever sat at your desk or laid in your bed late at night thinking about how upset you were that a certain person did that certain thing to you ages ago? Maybe you do not even realize that you are holding onto something so closely until you see a picture of that person or you hear from them again. Your emotions may catch you off guard and it can be impossible to think about anything else in that moment of time. These are all signs that you are holding onto something very negative in your life. It’s okay to be upset or hurt about something for a period of time. It’s called grieving. You could be grieving about a past relationship, an untimely death, a lost job, etc. There are so many things that have the possibility to grieve over. However, once that grieving period ends and you start to handle your emotions in unhealthy patterns, or worse, you don’t handle them at all- it might be time to make a change.

Harboring those negative thoughts only increases your chance for negative thought patterns to develop. This negative energy that you have allowed into your life is wreaking havoc through your whole system. It can release itself in many different ways throughout your body. It can increase stress and decrease your happiness which in turn can leave you with poor health from the stress and depression or other unwanted emotional feelings. Holding onto something so tightly means you are applying your energy into that situation. You are no longer opening yourself up to a more positive opportunity or experience. You are shutting yourself off to the world around you.

This may all sound like gloom and doom. I can hear you saying, “I don’t want to be sad and stressed. I would love to have new opportunities in my life! I just don’t know how to let go!” All of these concerns lead to the infamous question. How do we let go? If we are constantly thinking about how we want to let go of this situation, we are simply applying more energy into an unwanted topic that will not benefit us. It is important to reach a new mindset where you feel comfortable with thinking about the situation or person. Allow yourself to think of all the happy and sad times and maybe why you’re upset or why you’re sad. Allow yourself to feel those emotions in that moment. Then once you have ran through those emotions thoroughly tell yourself you are at peace with what happened and you are willing to let go. You don’t have to have all the answers right there or feel completely fine, but once you tell yourself that you are willing to let go you are allowing your energy to take a positive turn and help you. The universe will work its magic and help you with the rest. The most important thing to remember though, is that you are willing to let go. Nothing comes easy, but soon after you will find yourself with a lighter heart and a more open mind.

Holistic Sound Healing for the Skeptic

Holistic Sound Healing isn’t widely known and for some, it can be a skeptical experience. The idea that sound can heal your mind and body can be a hard concept to grasp. But I am here to explain to you how it works. And the only way I can actually prove to you that it works is by using facts and science!

To start, it is important to know that every life form on this planet depends on the electromagnetic field of vibration (Schumann Resonance Frequency). Our planet is electrically positive charged and the earth’s surface has a negative charge. Our Earth’s ionosphere cavity is created by the conductive surface of the earth and the outer boundary of the ionosphere. The tension in this cavity is relieved by lightning. Lightning has a frequency between 1kHz and 30 kHz. Lightning produces electromagnetic waves in very low frequency.

It wasn’t until Dr. Ankermueller made the connection between Schumann’s resonance and the alpha rhythm of brainwaves. The frequency found in the environment was almost identical to the frequency found in our brains. Dr. Ludwig furthered this theory by doing more research. He tested the environmental frequencies in large cities and near the ocean and found that the frequency waves were stronger near the ocean. This was due to good electrical conductivity. This is why when people go to the beach or after a big storm sometimes they feel refreshed, it’s because of the strong frequency.

Dr. Ludwig also researched old Chinese teachings about achieving perfect health. He discovered that in order to achieve perfect health, the Schumann wave simulation needed the geomagnetic signal to balance the human body. They experimented with student volunteers. They placed them in an underground bunker, which screened out magnetic fields. The students lived in the sealed environment for a month. The student’s circadian rhythms changed and they suffered from emotional distress and headaches. Once the experiment was over they were exposed to 7.8 Hz and were healthy again.

So what does all of this mean? Basically your brain is consisted of neurons and they use electricity to communicate with each other. This creates a brainwave pattern. The higher the brainwave frequency the harder it is to concentrate and it becomes more difficult to produce those feel-good chemicals like endorphins or dopamine. By lowering our brain frequency we can concentrate more and become more balanced. The positive and negative frequencies in the air that are created from our ionosphere have a large effect on how our brain frequencies function. Being by the ocean, there are plenty of negative ions and lower frequency so we may feel calmer. Being in a large city there is a lot of air pollution and toxicity in the air producing positive ions that have a higher frequency and may affect our brains in a negative way.

Although you’ve got an idea of how you’re going to go about your goal, you’ll actually need to follow through. The third thing you will need to do is continue on your journey even when you have set backs. If you let yourself get down about the fact your gained two pounds over thanksgiving even though you’re on a huge diet, you will only create more obstacles and opportunities for you to succeed.
