How do affirmations work?

Affirmations are little sayings or sentences that you may say to yourself to encourage the growth of that desire. For example, let’s say you want to get more money. You may say to yourself, “I am willing, ready and able to receive money.” But in the back of your mind you might be saying, “This isn’t going to work. This is dumb.” In the end the negative comment is going to trump the positive affirmation.

Positive affirmations are a way of life. The way you think is the way you live. If you truly believe that telling yourself positive things won’t work and your life won’t improve, then it wont. However, if you tell yourself that all the positive affirmations will work and they will change your life, then they have a great chance of doing so.

Thinking is a habit. If you wanted to quit smoking, you would have to break that habit. Once you officially quit smoking you might have an improved quality of life. You might be able to run longer, stop coughing, have more energy, the list goes on. That is the same way affirmations work. Once you break the bad habit of how you used to think, you will start thinking more positively and positive energy will be attracted to you.

Your life will fill with opportunities, happiness, wealth, health and love, just to name a few. So how do you start with these positive affirmations? Well it’s quite simple. Just start telling yourself positive things!

Do you want to attract more love? Tell yourself this: I have come to this planet to learn to love myself more, and to share that love with all those around me.

Do you want to have more energy? Tell yourself this: Today, I am brimming with energy and overflowing with joy

Do you want forgiveness? Tell yourself this: I forgive those who have harmed me in my past and peacefully detach from them.

If you want a better marriage: My marriage is becoming stronger, deeper, and more stable each day.

If you want more self-love: I acknowledge my own self-worth; my confidence is soaring

If you want good health: I love my body and it is a powerhouse for fueling me. I respect and listen to what it needs.

If you want success: My obstacles are moving out of my way; my path is carved towards greatness.

These are just a few affirmations. You can find them everywhere and you can even create them yourself. It is so important to watch what you think, because that is what you become. Do not deny your power and your worth!

How does Meditating Work?

We’ve all heard that meditating is supposed to relax and balance ourselves and it should be practiced the same way that you blink or breathe-all the time. Meditating is a practice that helps you achieve higher consciousness. It can rewire our brains entirely. It’s been known to ward off health issues and prepare people to handle more in their lives. It is a way to control your emotions. But do we really know how it works?

  1. Gamma State: (30 – 100Hz) This is the state of hyperactivity and active learning. Gamma state is the most opportune time to retain information. This is why educators often have audiences jumping up and down or dancing around — to increase the likelihood of permanent assimilation of information. If over stimulated, it can lead to anxiety.Beta State: (13 – 30Hz) Where we function for most of the day, beta state is associated with the alert mind state of the prefrontal cortex. This is a state of the “working” or “thinking mind” — analytical, planning, assessing and categorizing.3. Alpha State: (9 – 13Hz) Brain waves start to slow down out of thinking mind. We feel more calm, peaceful and grounded. We often find ourselves in an “alpha state” after a yoga class, a walk in the woods, a pleasurable sexual encounter or during any activity that helps relax the body and mind. We are lucid, reflective, have a slightly diffused awareness. The hemispheres of the brain are more balanced (neural integration).

    4. Theta State: (4 – 8Hz) We are able to begin meditation. This is the point where the verbal/thinking mind transitions to the meditative/visual mind. We begin to move from the planning mind to a deeper state of awareness (often felt as drowsy), with stronger intuition, more capacity for wholeness and complicated problem solving. The theta state is associated visualization.

    5. Delta State: (1-3 Hz) Tibetan monks that have been meditating for decades can reach this in an alert, wakened phase, but most of us reach this final state during deep, dreamless sleep.

Meditation has been proven to preserve the aging brain and improve memory. It also has shown to increase focus in people and decrease mind-wandering. Mind-wandering can be signs of unhappiness or focusing on the past or future too much. By toning this down by meditation you will start to see things more clearly in present time. Meditation can also have the same effects that medication have on anxiety or depression. It can rewire your brain and increase happy hormones like dopamine or serotonin. Meditation has also shown progress with helping addiction. Meditation “decouples” cravings from the actual act of consuming or doing whatever you are craving.

As you can see, meditation only has positive benefits. It is important that we take care of our minds just the same way we should take care of our bodies. Our minds control every aspect of our lives and if we have an unhealthy mindset, we have an unhealthy life. By making simple changes like meditating or using sound healing, we can bring positive energy back into our lives and raise our vibrations.

The Guilt Game

What is guilt? We’ve all felt it. We all know how it makes us feel. It is one of the worst feelings and can leave you sleepless and sad. Maybe you did something and are too embarrassed to admit it. Maybe you finally realized something and feel like you need to right a wrong. Maybe you feel undeserving and when you finally achieve a goal or receive that item, you no longer feel good, but rather guilty.

Guilt is a funny thing. In a cognitive perspective, guilt is the thought that you have done harm unto someone else. Some people feel this emotion many times throughout the day; some people feel this emotion only once in a while. Researchers and psychologists believe that guilt and the amount of guilt you feel is determined on how you were raised and how you played as a child.

Guilt can be irrational and cause extra anxiety. It can make a situation seem more severe than it really was or it can make you question what actually happened. Sometimes people will experience guilt when they come into a large amount of money. Maybe they got a new job and they are paid very well or someone passed away and they inherited money. They may feel like they are undeserving of this money and they are afraid to have it or use it. This can cause extra distress on that person’s life and it can lead to a domino effect of many other problems.

Some people may also feel this way when it comes to love. That person may have been in a poor relationship in the past and believes that they only deserve a partner who will treat them worse than they treat their partner because they feel too much guilt. They feel like they are a burden so they need to be treated like one.

Guilt can form from a lack of confidence or from a lack of deservingness. These emotions could have been formed from situations in the past, it could have been how someone was raised or it could be from depression or anxiety.

So how do we fix it? Someone who experiences an exponential amount of guilt should practice positive affirmations. For example:

“I am deserving of my wealth/life/job/health.”

“Love is attracted to me because I express love.”

“I am happy and deserving.”

“I approve of myself and my surroundings.”

These are just a few examples of what you can tell yourself to boost your confidence and change the way you think. Through sound healing and positive affirmations, someone who experiences a lot of guilt will see improvements and may even notice their outlook change on situations. Nobody has to suffer through guilt. If you or someone you know is experiencing debilitating guilt or an abnormal amount of guilt, suggest sound healing and positive affirmations.

Holistic Sound Healing for the Skeptic

Holistic Sound Healing isn’t widely known and for some, it can be a skeptical experience. The idea that sound can heal your mind and body can be a hard concept to grasp. But I am here to explain to you how it works. And the only way I can actually prove to you that it works is by using facts and science!

To start, it is important to know that every life form on this planet depends on the electromagnetic field of vibration (Schumann Resonance Frequency). Our planet is electrically positive charged and the earth’s surface has a negative charge. Our Earth’s ionosphere cavity is created by the conductive surface of the earth and the outer boundary of the ionosphere. The tension in this cavity is relieved by lightning. Lightning has a frequency between 1kHz and 30 kHz. Lightning produces electromagnetic waves in very low frequency.

It wasn’t until Dr. Ankermueller made the connection between Schumann’s resonance and the alpha rhythm of brainwaves. The frequency found in the environment was almost identical to the frequency found in our brains. Dr. Ludwig furthered this theory by doing more research. He tested the environmental frequencies in large cities and near the ocean and found that the frequency waves were stronger near the ocean. This was due to good electrical conductivity. This is why when people go to the beach or after a big storm sometimes they feel refreshed, it’s because of the strong frequency.

Dr. Ludwig also researched old Chinese teachings about achieving perfect health. He discovered that in order to achieve perfect health, the Schumann wave simulation needed the geomagnetic signal to balance the human body. They experimented with student volunteers. They placed them in an underground bunker, which screened out magnetic fields. The students lived in the sealed environment for a month. The student’s circadian rhythms changed and they suffered from emotional distress and headaches. Once the experiment was over they were exposed to 7.8 Hz and were healthy again.

So what does all of this mean? Basically your brain is consisted of neurons and they use electricity to communicate with each other. This creates a brainwave pattern. The higher the brainwave frequency the harder it is to concentrate and it becomes more difficult to produce those feel-good chemicals like endorphins or dopamine. By lowering our brain frequency we can concentrate more and become more balanced. The positive and negative frequencies in the air that are created from our ionosphere have a large effect on how our brain frequencies function. Being by the ocean, there are plenty of negative ions and lower frequency so we may feel calmer. Being in a large city there is a lot of air pollution and toxicity in the air producing positive ions that have a higher frequency and may affect our brains in a negative way.

Can Holistic Sound healing Treat your Allergies?

Some days are more stressful than others. You may notice that your skin breaks out into red splotches or you are a little bit itchier than usual. When you’re stressed your body releases different hormones and chemicals into your body, for example: cortisol and adrenaline. This can affect your immune system and essentially have some wear and tear on your body. With a lower immune system your body is more susceptible to reacting to irritants or allergens.

Holistic Sound Healing can eliminate the stress in your life and can find the core root of where your stress is coming from. This could potentially be life saving. Stress causes a plethora of different diseases and conditions that harm your body. Your immune system is like a snowball effect, if something goes wrong chances are something else is going to go wrong. The stress in your life may be linked to subconscious thoughts that you are not aware of. Negative energy may be flowing through your life and it causes more negative experiences, which essentially lead to more stress.

In my personal experience with holistic sound healing I’ve noticed significant changes in the way my body reacts to stress. My chest used to break out in red splotches whenever I was stressed or nervous. This would cause me to be even more nervous because my body was reacting to something in a negative and scary way. Since Holistic sound healing my chest has stopped breaking out when I’m nervous or stressed. It still happens here and there, but it is not a daily occurrence like it used to be.

“I just wanted to let you know that I spent 2-3 hours on a couch full of cat hair and a cat on/near my lap with zero allergic reaction.  It was pretty unbelievable.  So it appears as if you’ve completely rid me of my cat allergy…” This is a testimonial from someone who has used Holistic Sound Healing. They were able to sit on a couch full of cats and not have an allergic reaction. It is incredible how emotions are linked to different aspects in our lives.

If you or someone you know is experiencing allergies or relies on constant medication to keep their allergies in control, check out Holistic Sound Healing. Clearing those negative emotions could have a positive impact on your overall health.

don't let your dreams be dreams

Why you aren’t achieving your dreams

The main reason why people never start the journey to following their dreams is because they have a belief set in their minds that they aren’t able to do it. It may be one excuse after another, or a legitimate fear of failure. But whether or not you can move past your fears and excuses is what creates the difference from people who accomplish what they want, and people who do not. Here are some of the top self-limiting beliefs most people encounter.

The Top 10 Self-Limiting Beliefs:

1. I’m too old
2. I’m not smart enough
3. I’m not educated enough
4. I’m afraid of trying and failing
5. You have to have money to make money
6. I’ve already tried everything
7. It’s selfish of me to want more
8. I don’t feel that I really deserve it
9. I don’t have the willpower
10. All the good ones are taken

Thinking about the area of your life that you want to work on, or the dreams that you want to chase, which one of these beliefs is sitting in the way? There might be an explanation as to why you are feeling this way. It might have been a past experience, watching someone else fail or the fear of failing yourself. Holistic Sound Healing can pin point exactly what is causing this distress on the path to following your dreams. These beliefs are resonating from you on a subconscious level and by digging up those nasty thoughts and emotions; we can eliminate them and create a positive space between you and your goals.

It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not. By discovering what is exactly hindering your success and clearing that thought pattern, you can experience a happier and more positive life. Your fear of not having enough money or your fear of not being smart enough or failing is all in your mind and sometimes it can feel next to impossible to “get over” those emotions on your own. So before you give up completely on chasing after your dreams, take a minute and consider Holistic Sound Healing as a way of setting you on the right path to success.

Living with Negative Energy

Whether it is a family member, a neighbor or your coworker, chances are you have someone very negative in your life. Their constant complaining and blaming can drive you crazy. They won’t stop talking about the same negative situation time and time again. They never take responsibility for any of their actions and believe the world is out to get them. After spending a few hours or maybe even minutes around them it might feel impossible to escape that energy. Here are a few tips to avoid negative energy, even if you can’t avoid that person.

1. Don’t React: Most of the time the person who is ranting is looking for a reaction to validate their feelings. If you do not react you are not giving them the satisfaction they are looking for. Over time they will probably stop giving you negative energy because you are not returning the negative energy. Instead of reacting simply say, “I’m sorry that happened to you.” Or “Maybe next time will be better.”
2. Give off positive energy: Start the day off right by flashing them a huge smile and wishing them a great day. They might be confused at first but it will get them thinking about being more positive. Also, the energy you give off is the energy you attract. The negative person may no longer find themselves at your desk or badgering you at family gatherings.
3. Don’t Dwell: If you find yourself dwelling on how annoying that person is, you are only inviting more negative energy into your space. It is important to remember that they are the unhappy ones, not you.
4. Understand where they’re coming from: This does not mean you need to dive into every detail of their “dramatic” lives or figure out why they are constantly negative. Instead, realize that there is an imbalance in their lives and they are unsatisfied with themselves. They may not even realize these things. This has nothing to do with you.
5. Debrief: Once that negative person has entered your life, there is a great chance that you pick up on their energy. Take a little time after your conversation or encounter to collect your thoughts and build your positive energy back up. You do not want negativity lingering throughout your day.

If you are struggling with negative people in your life, Holistic Sound Healing will be able to help. By changing your energy and thought process, it will become easier to handle situations in your everyday life. But in the meantime, practice these tips and notice how you won’t let negative energy affect your life!

The Blame Game

We all know somebody who immediately places the blame on someone else whenever something goes wrong. Maybe we are that person; maybe we live with that person. Either way it can become stressful to handle those constant feelings of anger and denial.
There is a breakdown that happens in the blamer’s mind when their actions don’t go as planned or they have unintended results.
1. Protect core beliefs
2. Meet their desires
3. Coping with their emotional state by judging others

All these processes that go through the blamer’s mind comes down to one simple trait. They engage in selfish behavior. These people believe that by placing the blame on someone else, they are protecting their core beliefs and therefore in denial. Blaming other people will make them feel less guilty and satisfy their inner desire to feel good about themselves. If the blamer is flustered or even embarrassed, it is easier to pick out the flaws in others to over rule the fact that they messed up. It is a simple process that can cause a lot of drama.

Selfishness is a short-term fulfilling behavior that takes no concern of other people or long-term consequences. So how can we determine if someone is selfish? Typically a selfish person has low self-esteem and therefore will do anything to make him or herself feel/look better. They look for short-term solutions that will give them some type of satisfaction. This brings us right back to the blame game. Blaming someone is a short-term solution that gives you immediate satisfaction.

People who are constantly blaming typically do not realize they are doing this. It is a pattern in their minds that is impossible to discover unless you are forced to see it. Do you ever find yourself having bad situations happen to you? Is negativity constantly surrounding your life? Are the people you are surrounded with dealing with the same problems you are? Holistic Sound Healing can help give you that positive energy back in your life. You will find yourself surrounded by more positive people and the ability to identify situations more clearly. You won’t feel as much hate or conflict in your life. The energy you give off is the energy you receive and find yourself surrounded by. Take a hard look at the group of people you are surrounded by and evaluate the different decisions in your life. A few sessions of sound healing could change your life!

How Chronic Pain is Linked to Your Emotions

We all know somebody who is dealing with some sort of chronic pain. Those are the people who have to get up during the meeting because they can’t handle their back pain any longer. Or they’re the people who have been on pain relieving medication for years and complain how it never works. It’s the people who avoid going out in public because of their intense headaches. There are so many different ways to experience pain.

Is the pain real or is it all in your head? It is possible that the physical pain could actually be gone, but the neurotransmitter receptors in your brain have not shut off. They still think your body is in pain and signals to your body that it is in danger. Think of it as a bad breakup. You may have trust issues and not be capable of feeling for someone else for a while. Your brain learned this behavior and it is its way of protecting you. This is the same for pain. Unfortunately, something in your brain didn’t shut off and it still thinks you are in pain. “As pain becomes chronic, the sensory components become less important and the emotional and behavioral components tend to take on more importance,” says Jodie Ann Trafton, director of the Veterans Administration Palo Alt Health Care Systems Program Evaluation and Resource center in California. “This is because of learning. Having pain is a strong emotional experience. It will reshape your behavior. It will reshape how you interact with the world. And that in itself means your brain is going to respond differently over time.” (psychologytoday.com)

“Emotions, just like pain, are creations of the physical brain, specifically the midbrain. Emotions emerge from a complex interaction of electrical and chemical impulses in the brain, resulting in a cascade of nerves firing and chemicals being secreted. Neurotransmitters are involved with the experience of pain as well as with emotions. They are responsible for sending information between nerves about the pain and/or emotions being sensed… “ Mel Pohl M.D., FASAM states on psychologytoday.com.
So now you have this lingering chronic pain that isn’t actual physical pain but you still can’t do anything about it. That is false. At Rediscover Yourself Holistic Sound Healing we are able to clear some of these negative emotions that are linked to your chronic pain. We store our emotions in different parts of our bodies and by clearing these emotions we may be able to feel relief in these areas. By releasing these emotions we are allowing our neurotransmitters to calm down and heal again. Your whole body will start to feel a sense of calm. Your brain will no longer tell your body that you are in danger and that the pain can stop. So don’t worry if it’s all in your head! You are still feeling legitimate pain that your body cannot end just because you know about it. Your receptors need time to heal and it is your job to assist them with that! Let holistic sound therapy help with your chronic pain.
