How You’ll Find Success Once You Ditch Stress

There’s a notion in our society that in order to be successful, you have to put in an exponential amount of hard work and endure a lot of stress. Many people paint success as a monetary goal achieved, or a status that is gained.

But the truth is, success can mean a lot of things and ultimately it is the opposite of stress. Success can be a well balanced life, surrounded by positive people, places and things. It can mean having peace and kindness in your heart. Success can be defined as loving what you do, even if it doesn’t make you a million dollars or give you the status that you’re looking for. However, when we do find success in this sense, it is almost always rewarded with the extrinsic goals we desire as well.

How Does This Work?

For example: You quit your corporate job to become a full time writer. At first the pay may not be good or the stability seems to waiver, but you trust your intuition and continue to follow your passion. Now there’s two paths you could go down. You could stress about it and work yourself up and put in extra hours thinking of ways you can be successful and potentially burn yourself out, or you could keep your peace, remain calm and place your energy on what you love to do, writing. In the second scenario, you’re placing your energy towards improving and not wasting your energy on stress and negative emotions.

When we take out the negative emotions and stop feeding our energy towards stress, overwhelm and anxiety, we are connecting to a higher source to guide us where we need to be. We are also increasing our vibration and aligning with the opportunities that will get us to where we need to go.

So if you’re living a life that is filled with stress or you have a job that no matter what, you can’t find yourself happy with, it may be time to reevaluate. Stress does not equal success. Long hours does not equal success. Money and status does not equal success. Of course it sounds easier said than done, but the truth is, it is just that easy if you choose to let it be that easy. Our minds will think of a million reasons when we’re faced with discomfort, but that is the ego taking over. Once we are able to recognize the ego and differentiate it from our soul’s purpose, that is when we are able to make decisions that are in alignment with our highest good. When we hit this point, everything we were seeking will come to us with very little or no effort at all.

How to Change a Negative Narrative

The way we grew up, the beliefs that our parents and ancestors had, and the way society shapes us can all have an effect on our personal narrative. We may think that because we grew up poor, we don’t deserve to be lavishly wealthy. Or we may believe that we can’t reach certain fitness goals because our bodies aren’t built a certain way.

These are examples of limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are anything that your mind has created to stop you from achieving or manifesting whatever you want. What’s important to know about limiting beliefs is that they can be changed. A belief is just a thought that has been programmed into your subconscious by your mind. You may not even know you have a limiting belief about something. For example, you want to get a new job but you don’t think you have enough skills to get the position you want. Instead of going for the job anyways and taking inspired action to fulfill your dream, you don’t even try.

We can identify limiting beliefs by recognizing the negative talk within our minds. If you notice yourself thinking negatively about a person, situation, goal, or idea, you may have a subconscious limiting belief.

Limiting beliefs may not disappear overnight, but if you recognize them you can start to change the way you talk to yourself.and view the world. Anything is truly possible if you want it to be. There’s a reason you have specific dreams and goals. If you want to achieve them, start feeling worthy enough for them. Once you believe that those goals and dreams are for you, you will be guided by the universe and you can start to take inspired action. Don’t worry about how everything will unfold to get you to where you want to be. Trust that you are doing everything you need to.

That can make you believe that those dreams aren’t possible and they are crazy to think. When in reality, that is what your soul dreamed of at the time.

Dreams can certainly change, but you may have oppressed your truest desires because you didn’t think they were practical or possible or you were feared of being judged.

Many people think this way and they take a route in life that is more practical or “easier to accomplish.” This can absorb more of your energy than you realize because you are working harder towards something that isn’t aligned with your soul’s purpose.

Getting into alignment isn’t accomplished just by one step, but by doing a bunch of little things that feel good to you. If you want to be an artist, pick up a paintbrush for fun one day. If you want to live somewhere warm, start researching and visiting places. Getting into alignment is about taking little steps that feel good to you and make you excited and inspired. The universe will take care of the rest.
